Have you ever heard of quantum alchemistry? It might sound like something out of a fairy tale, but it’s very real and absolutely fascinating. Today, we’ll dive into the magical world of science and experiment in quantum puzzles that stump the most brillant minds. Are you ready t o solve these mysteries?.
Quantum Experiments #1
- Quantum Coin Flip: Materials: A coin, a piece of paper, a pen.:
- Write down whether you think the coin will land heads or tails.
- Flip the coin and record the result.
- Do this 10 times.
When you’re guessing the coin flip, it’s like the mysterious world of tiny particles where things can exist in as both heads and tails. In the quantum world, once we see the result, the coin choose it’s state, heads or tails.
Quantum Experiments #2
- Laser and Double Slit: Materials: Laser pointer, ruler, two narrow slits cut about 1/8 inch part, in either cardstock or dark paper, a white wall or screen.
- Shine the laser pointer through the two slits onto a white wall/screen.
Instead of just two slits of light on the wall, you’ll see multiple bands. This is a basic version of the double-slit experiment that demonstrates wave-particle duality. light exits both as wave and a particle
Quantum Experiments #3
- Dancing Rice: Materials: A glass of water, rice, and a strong magnet.
- Fill the glass with water and drop some rice in it.
- Bring the magnet close (but not touching) to the glass.
The rice will move! This simulates how quantum particles can be affected by external forces. The Universe’s energy is always around us.
